Dead load consists of self weight of the structure and any static material which is fixed to the respective structure.
Some of the common dead load in the building are listed below:
Self Weight of structural elements : Beams, Slabs , Foundation, column etc.
Floor and Ceiling finishes (Superimposed dead load) : screeds, ceilings and ceiling finishes
Common services in residential and commercial building : ducts, cable containment, pipes and ceiling lights.
Partitions : mainly used in the office building, can be installed anywhere and act as load bearing member
Please ensure not to include the following in the dead load :
Movable partition
Plant room accessories
Gym equipments
Electronics equipments

Soil | 18 |
Reinforced Concrete | 25 |
Mass Concrete | 24 |
Timber | 5.5 |

Glass | 25 |
Steel | 78 |
Common dead load which we see in day to day life are discussed below :
Material | Area load (kN/m2) |

Please refer to structural engineering handbook for values of other materials.
As per Eurocodes, below partial factors shall be used for the commination.
